Wade Wilson

Wade Wilson was an NFL player. He was an 8th round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1981 NFL Draft. He played in the league from 1981 through 1998.

The Greenville, Texas native spent the majority of his career with the Vikings. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Oakland Raiders.

He appeared in 125 games, including 69 starts. He was 36-33 as a starter.

He did not win more than seven games as a starter in his career. He guided three teams to seven wins as a starter. The teams were in 1998, 1989, and 1993.

He went 7-3 as a starter for the Vikings in 1998. He followed that up the next season with a 7-5 record in 1989. Then, in 1993 with the Saints, he guided the team to a 7-7 record.

He went 1,391 of 2,428 for 17,283 yards. He had 99 touchdown passes and 102 receptions.

Wilson also had 239 carries for 1,025 yards and nine rushing touchdowns.

He passed away at 60-years-old on February 1st, 2019.
