“I haven’t thought about the money yet,” Davenport said after the race in a post-race interview with FloRacing. “I won’t begin to think about that until it gets into the bank account. It’s just another crown jewel at Eldora. It’s an awesome opportunity to come here. This place is great. They just had dump trucks, excavators, and bulldozers on this thing two days ago.

“Tony (Stewart) and the whole gang have done a tremendous job. I bounced through holes that I probably shouldn’t have. At one point, my glasses were even knocked sideways. That was kind of interesting.”

Davenport took the lead with 15 laps to go. He led the race until two laps to go when Chris Madden took the lead late.

Madden took the lead on Turn 3. However, shortly thereafter, Davenport retook the lead. And he held on for the win.

Madden finished second. Devin Moran finished third.
