Murray State softball team was involved in an accident en route to Alabama

The Murray State Racers softball team was involved in an accident. There is not much information on how the accident happened.

What we do know is that three members of the team had to go to the hospital. The accident happened as the team was traveling to the NCAA Regional at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

We do not know what the players’ injuries are. Or where the accident exactly happened, or how it happened.

“The Murray State University softball team bus was involved in an accident while traveling to the NCAA Regional tournament in Tuscaloosa, Alabama,” Murray State Racer Athletics said in a Facebook post. “Three team individuals are being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for further testing and monitoring. The remaining student-athletes and staff are safe and unharmed.”

The Racers are slated to play the No. 2 Stanford Cardinal on Friday, May 20th in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The game will start at 5:30 pm local time.

The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Champions are 40-16-1 this season. The team is 22-13 on the road this season on true road games and neutral site games.

Their last game was a win over the Belmont Bruins on May 14th. The Racers won 5-2 over the Bruins in Oxford, Alabama.
