David Gates wins Brainerd Great 8

Team Kye driver David Gates has picked up his first win in the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings. He won the Great 8 on Friday night at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota.

He defeated Team Fireball driver Giuseppe Gentile in the final round.

This will air on the Discovery Channel at a later date. At this time, Discovery Channel has not confirmed when the new season will air on the fall.

“I don’t even know where to start but thank you to everyone that has believed in this crew since Day 1,” David Gates Jr. – Red Rum Racing said in a Facebook post. “We just getting started good and ready to do what we can to be the best! We are the No Prep Kings great 8 winner tonight and ready to get it on with the big dogs tomorrow in the invitational team championship!

“We will leave Brainerd International Raceway tied with the champ himself Fireball Camaro for the individual championship! What an honor to be with this group. Kye Kelley Racing and Adam Drzayich thank you both for believing in us and look forward to many more! To the David Gates Jr. – RedRum Racing crew thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do!!!!!”

In one semifinal, Gates drove his Red Rum car over Jim Howe in his Guardian car. The second semifinal saw Gentile in the Gucci Nova defeat Larry “Axman” Roach in the GameChanger.

Gates picked up individual points for the win. Gentile also received points too. Plus, these drivers also collected points for their team, too.

The Louisiana native represents Team Kye. He is apart of team that consists of Kye Kelley, Lizzy Musi, Gates, Jay Boddie Jr., and Chris Rankin.

Gentile is on a team that consists of Ryan Martin, Robin Roberts, Gentile, Rich Bruder, and Chuck Seitsinger.
