Crimson Tide hold on to defeat the Bulldogs in a mega matchup

The No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide won 41-34 over the Bulldogs at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

With the win, the Crimson Tide are expected to move up in the AP rankings. However, it is not clear at press time if they have earned the top ranking, which currently belongs to the Texas Longhorns.

The Crimson Tide improved to 4-0 on the season. This was their first Southeastern Conference win.

The Bulldogs fell to 3-1 overall. Georgia is now 1-1 in the SEC.

According to SportsCenter, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is 88-6 since 2017 against everyone else on the Bulldogs schedule. However, when it comes to the Crimson Tide, the former Alabama defensive coordinator is 1-6 against his former employer.

Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe went 27 of 33 for 374 yards. He had two touchdown passes and one interception.

Milroe also had 16 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Williams had six receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown.

Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck went 27 of 50 for 439 yards. He had three touchdown passes and three interceptions.

Trevor Etienne had 12 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Arian Smith had six receptions for 132 yards and one touchdown.

The Crimson Tide had a huge lead in the first half. However, it was a tail of two halves with the Bulldogs coming back in the second half.

In fact, they took a one-point lead with less than three minutes left in the contest.

The Bulldogs outscored the Crimson Tide 27-11. Beck hit Smith for a 12-yard touchdown reception. Following the play, Beck hit Lawson Luckie for a two-point conversion.

Beck hit Luckie for an eight-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion after this score failed.

Dillon Bell scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown. Beck also hit Bell for a 67-yard touchdown reception to take a 34-33 lead. The two-point conversion after this play failed.

Crimson Tide’s Milroe hit Ryan Williams for a 75-yard touchdown pass. Milroe hit Germie Bernard to complete a two-point conversion.

Graham Nicholson also made a 28-yard field goal.

Alabama led 30-7 at halftime. Milroe scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown. Milroe also hit Jam Miller for a 16-yard touchdown reception.

Bernard also scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown. Milroe scored on a 36-yard rushing touchdown. The team also recorded two points on a safety.

Georgia’s Etienne scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown.
