According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams prefers to be traded. However, Rapoport said nothing is imminent at this time.

Presently, Adams is considered week to week with a hamstring injury.

Adams — who is considered one of the best wide receivers in the league — has been with the Raiders for the past three seasons. He was acquired in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 offseason.

Initially, he was reunited with his college teammate Derek Carr. However, the Raiders moved on from Carr after the 2022 season.

Carr has been the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints for the past two seasons.

The 2024 trade deadline is November 5th. It is going to take a substantial deal to acquire Adams.

Last year at the trade deadline, which had rumblings that Derrick Henry may be dealt, no big-name player was traded.

Part of that reason is that big-name players, like Adams, have big salaries. And if a player is traded with a big contract in the season, a team would either have to have the salary cap room or match the salary that is being acquired, which is tricker in the season.

The 31-year-old has been in the league since the 2014 season when he was the 53rd overall pick (second-round pick) in the 2014 NFL Draft. The California native has started 3 games this season.

He did not play in the Raiders game on Sunday with the aforementioned hamstring injury.

Adams has had 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown reception.

He has had four straight seasons with at least 100 receptions and over 1,000 receiving yards. He’s going to need 82 more receptions to surpass 100 receptions.

And he’s going to need 800 receiving yards to surpass 1,000 yards. In his last game played against the Carolina Panthers, he had four receptions for 40 yards.

He has only surpassed 100 yards in a game. In Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, he had 110 yards.

In his career, Adams has had 890 receptions for 10,990 yards and 96 touchdowns in 11 seasons.

If Adams does not get 1,000 receiving yards, it’ll be his first season doing such since the 2019 season with the Packers. That’s when he had 997 yards.

One may blame Adams’s performances so far on the quarterback. Gardner Minshew II has thrown for 877 yards.

However, in the past two games against the Raiders and the Cleveland Browns, Minshew has thrown for 344 yards.
