Robert Kubica has been seriously injured in an accident Sunday. The Loutus Renault Formula One drive suffered injuries to his arm and hand when he crashed at a race near Testico, Italy.

The crash occurred soon after the start of the Ronde di Andora Rally. Kubica and co-driver Jakub Gerber slammed into a church wall at a very high speed.Gerber was not injured in the crash. However, Kubica was airlifted to a hospital in Genoa.

Kubica is only 26-years-old, and he has already survived another major accident a few years ago. In 2003, he was involved in a traffic accident, which caused doctors to put titanium implants in his left arm.
