Hotshots use big second half to defeat Stallions

The Arizona Hotshots won their first game of the season. They defeated the Salt Lake Stallions on Sunday night at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. 

The Hotshots are now 1-0 on the season. The Stallions fell to 0-1.

Hotshots quarterback John Wolford went 18 of 29 for 275 yards. He also had four touchdowns. 

Jhurell Pressley had 18 carries for 64 yards. Justin Stockton had seven carries for 46 yards. 

Rashad Ross had five receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Richard Mullaney had five receptions for 57 yards while Gerald Christian had three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Pressley had a 30-yard touchdown reception. 

Stallions quarterback Josh Woodrum went 10 of 22 for 103 yards. He also had a touchdown and an interception. 

Backup Matt Linehan went 7 of 13 for 56 yards. He also had one touchdown and one interception. 

Branden Oliver had eight carries for 40 yards. Joel Bouagnon had 16 carries for 39 yards. Matt Asiata had four carries for four yards, including a touchdown. 

Anthony Denham had five receptions for 59 yards. Dres Anderson had two receptions for 25 yards, while Nick Truesdell had three receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Leslie had two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown. 

Arizona scored 19 points in the second half. Wolford hit Ross for a four-yard touchdown reception. Wolford hit Duarte for two-point conversion. 

Wolford hit Pressley for a 30-yard touchdown reception. Wolford hit Mullaney for a two-point conversion.

Nick Folk also made a 32-yard field goal.

Salt Lake scored six points in the second half. Linehan hit Truesdell for a seven-yard touchdown reception. Linehan to Asiata pass incomplete, as two-point conversion failed. 

The Hotshots led 19-16 at halftime. Wolford hit Christian for a five-yard touchdown reception. Rose scored to convert the two-point conversion.

Wolford hit Ross for a 36-yard touchdown reception. Pressley scored on the two-point conversion.

Folk made a 53-yard field goal.

Stallions’ Asiata scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Woodrum converted the two-point conversion. 

Woodrum hit Leslie for two-yard touchdown. Oliver converted the two-point conversion
