He takes over for Doug Pederson, who has been fired this off-season. Pederson led the team for five seasons before his department.
During his five seasons, Pederson became the first Eagles head coach to win the Super Bowl.
The 39-year-old is the second-youngest hire in team history. Former head coach Dick Vermeil was several months younger when he was hired at 39 by the Eagles.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie chose an offensive-minded coach to work with Carson Wentz. The disgruntled quarterback had a horrible year in 2020 under Pederson.
The star quarterback and Pederson clashed during the season.
When Sirianni was the Colts offensive coordinator, he worked with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich, who is the Colts head coach. Wentz had the best season of his career under Reich in 2017.

Before going to the Colts, Sirianni was employed by the San Diego Chargers/Los Angeles Chargers from 20013 through 2017. He also was employed by the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009 through 2012.
Sirianni also spent time in college football. He spent two seasons as the Mount Union Purple Raiders defensive backs coach.
Also, he coached three seasons at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks as their wide receivers coach.
