“That was the only punch I was waiting for the entire fight,” Lewis said after the fight. I knew he was gonna come in. … That’s all I was waiting for. I wasn’t worried about throwing a one-two, a jab or anything.”

The Houston, Texas native has won his last two fights by knockout. He also knocked out Alexey Oleynik at UFC Fight Night 174, which was also stopped in the second round.

The 36-year-old has improved to 25-7-1 in his MMA career. He has knocked out 20 opponents.

Lewis wants to fight Alistair Overeem next.

“It’ll be cool to fight him, because he’s a so-called legend,” he said. “It would be cool to fight somebody like that. … We’ve been trying to fight him for years and he turned down the fight four times already.”

Before Saturday, Blaydes had not been defeated since losing to Francis Ngannou at UFC Fight Night 141 by TKO (Punches) in November 2018. Two years earlier, he also was knocked out by Ngannou in April 2016.
