Kye Kelley said in his latest vlog that the Shocker is destroyed. He said it was like looking at a family’s dead body when he took the cover off of the car.

Kelley said that the car flipped twice and then rolled sideways four times when David Gates crashed during an illegal test session right before the filming of Street Outlaws America’s List near La Villa, Texas.

He said that the car is a complete loss. It’s scrap metal now, but he’s going to have it in his shop instead of putting it in the junkyard.

“We were down at America’s List and my buddy David Gates,” Kelley said in ‘Shocker is completely destroyed… What happened? An up-close look at the damage. Totaled. “I wanted to get him on Team NOLA. Team New Orleans always got five people. All those other teams got 9-10 people there. For us to make a big stain, it’s hard for us to do, but we always do it. We always have to be perfect. We can’t mess up. When they let the rule go that you can use any car to race your way in, I decided to let David race Shocker because his car was not up to par.

“He was making passes but he was all over the road. I knew if he had gotten in Shocker, it was hauling a** down every street. I knew if he had gotten in the car, I knew he could race his way in and bully everyone around. And I wanted to see the look on JJ’s face [Jonathan “JJ DaBoss” Day] when we rolled Shocker out of the trailer and race his way in. JJ had 5-6 Memphis people there out of 12. I actually told David that we didn’t need to test the car because the car is set on kill. I know David looks kind of tubby and doesn’t look all nice and a six-pack like I do. He actually weighs the same as me. The car didn’t need to be tested. It was a bad decision on our part to test the car. From the 330 on (330 foot mark), there was dew on the street due to a pond being down there. The was making a killer pass then around 330, it kicked left because of the dew. He’s not a bad driver and he didn’t make a mistake. It was just a bad decision on our part.”

We previously reported that the Shocker crashed in January. The Shocker was not able to recover from this accident as it previously did with Lizzy Musi behind the wheel in 2018.
