Fayetteville Speedway in Illinois has been sold. Josh Carroll Motorsports LLC is the new owner.
The track was shut down on Wednesday. The facility cancelled their Wednesday, July 6th show.

“Just to clear some things up … As many of you have heard, Josh Carroll Motorsports LLC will be taking over the Fayette County racetrack,” the track said in a Facebook post. “To give a brief update, everything is moving forward. We have a few legal issues that we are working on getting completed and that should be done in the next few weeks. As of right now, what classes and what night has not been determined 100%.
“The track will be getting a new concession behind the grandstands, a new pit concession, new fencing, and a new speaker system. We plan on opening sometime in September or October 2022. Availability of the new upgrades will determine that. We look forward to making this a nice clean facility to bring your family and get you home early. Questions and concerns will not be answered until everything is finalized, and a tentative schedule will be posted at that time.”
The DIRTcar Summer Nationals was the last event held at the venue on June 30th. Four days ago, the track posted “thanks for the memories” on Facebook.
