The initial College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings for the 2023 season were released on Tuesday night. According to the committee, they believe the Ohio State Buckeyes are the best team so far this season.

The Buckeyes are undefeated on the season. This ranking comes on the heels of their 24-10 win over the Wisconsin Badgers.

Ohio State (8-0) plays their next game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday. This game will be played at noon.

The two-time defending champions, the Georgia Bulldogs are ranked No. 2, according to the committee. This gives head coach Kirby Smart motivation for his team.

The Bulldogs are 8-0 on the season. They face the No. 14 Missouri Tigers, who are 7-1, at 3:30 pm on Saturday.

The Michigan Wolverines are the No. 3 team. Some pundits believe that the Wolverines are the top team in the country; however, the committee did not at this time.

The Wolverines (8-0), which has a scandal surrounding its program, will face the Purdue Boilermakers (2-6) on Saturday. The night game will kick off at 7:30 pm.

The Florida State Seminoles are the No. 4 team. The Seminoles are 8-0 to begin the season.

They face the Pittsburgh Panthers (2-6) on Saturday. The game will kick off at 3:30 pm EST.

Two Pac-12 teams are on the outside looking in at the moment. And they played each other several weeks ago.

The Washington Huskies are No. 5 with their 8-0 record. They have a big matchup with the No. 24 USC Trojans on Saturday night at 7:30 pm on ABC.

The Oregon Ducks, who suffered their lone loss to the Huskies, are No. 6. They are 7-1 on the season.

The Ducks play the California Golden Bears (3-5) on Saturday at 5:30 pm EST.
