Jamieson scores OT goal as Thunderbirds beat Wings

Philadelphia — The Halifax Thunderbirds got a bit of revenge against the Philadelphia Wings. The Thunderbirds won 15-14 over the Wings on Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Wings won the first meeting between the two teams in December. The Philadelphia-based team won 16-15 on December 29th.

This was the final meeting between the two teams this season.

The Thunderbirds have won two straight games after losing three straight. The team is 4-3 overall.

The Wings have dropped four straight at home. They fell to 2-5 with the loss.

Since the beginning of the New Year, the Wings have dropped three straight games. All three of them have been at the Wells Fargo Center.

Thunderbirds won the game when Cody Jamieson scored in sudden death overtime. Jamieson won the game 21 seconds into overtime.

Jamieson and Clarke Petterson scored three goals each. Aaron Woods and Ryan Benesch contributed two goals each.

Jake Withers, Colton Armstrong, and Dawson Theede had one goal each.

Thunderbirds goaltender Warren Hill picked up the win. He allowed 14 goals and made 32 saves.

Ben McIntosh led the Wings with three goals. Joe Resetarits, Taggart Clark, and Blaze Riorden added two goals each.

Scott Dominey, Mitch Jones, Marcus Minichiello, Taite Cattoni, and Sam LeClair had one goal each.

Wings goaltender Zach Higgins received the loss. He gave up 13 goals and made 50 saves.
