The Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Frank Vogel. He was their head coach for just one season.

The team had high expectations following the acquisition of Bradley Beal. The team did not meet the expectations with a first-round exit to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Suns went 49-33 with their star-studded roster. However, they were swept 4-0 by the Timberwolves.

The Suns finished as the sixth-best team in the Western Conference with a 49-33 record. However, for them, they matched up with a hungrier team in the Timberwolves, who went 56-26 as the No. 3 seed.

The Timberwolves were in consideration for the top speed before fell to the third seed. Ultimately, the Oklahoma City Thunder became the top seed.

Vogel signed a five-year, $31 million deal with the Suns. Now, according to ESPN, the team is focusing on former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer.

He has been without a job since leaving the Bucks. While being the Bucks head coach, he did guide the team to the NBA Championship.

“We are here to win a championship and last season was way below our expectations,” Jones said. “We will continue to evaluate our operation and make the necessary changes to reach our championship-caliber goals. We all take accountability, and it’s my job, along with Josh and ownership, to build a championship team.”

He coached Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant.

The Wildwood Crest, New Jersey native will be one of the top coaching candidates. There is one less job available as the Charlotte Hornets signed Boston Celtics assistant coach Charles Lee.
