CHESTER, Pa. — The Philadelphia Union played better at home this time around. However, they could not get a win.

With the draw, each team collected one point.

The one-point gave the Union 19 points on the season. They are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 4-7-4 record.

Toronto FC is fairing much better this season. They are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with 23 points.

The team has a 7-2-7 mark. This was just their second draw on the season.

In the Union’s last two games, the team has been in two draws. They were also in a 0-0 draw with the Charlotte FC during Memorial Day weekend.

Subuaru Park was once one of the toughest places to play in during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. However, this season, the team has one win, 2 draws, and four losses along the Delaware River.

Their lone win at home came on March 30th in a 2-0 win against the Minnesota United FC. However, since April, the team has gone 0-1-4 at home.

The team will attempt to stop this streak against CF Montreal on Saturday night at home. CF Montreal is one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference with a 4-4-7 record.

They are 13th overall in the standings with just 16 points.

The Union were without their best striker in Julián Carranza — who has been linked to Feyenoord the past few days — as he was nursing an ankle injury. Curtin is hopeful that Carranza will play on Saturday.

“It’s not bad but it didn’t feel good enough to go tonight,” he said.

Carranza initially injured the ankle in the draw with Charlotte FC. However, after going through practice yesterday, he said to Curtin that he wasn’t feeling right and he did not play.

There were three yellow cards issued in the game. The Union’s captain Alejandro Bedoya picked up a yellow card in the 25th minute.

Toronto FC had the other two yellow cards. Matthew Longstaff picked up his yellow card in the 87th minute.

Then, several minutes later, Tyrese Spicer picked up a yellow card in the 90th minute.

Union netminder Oliver Semmle performed better in the net. He had three saves.

Toronto FC goaltender Sean Johnson made one save in the game.
