Union 2 defeats Crew 2 3-1 in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. — The Philadelphia Union 2 defeated the Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday night. The Union 2 won 3-1 over Crew 2 at Subaru Park.

This was the Union 2’s seventh win on the season. They have the most wins in the entire MLS Next Pro league.

The Union 2 is leading the Chattanooga FC by just one point. Philadelphia’s minor-league team has 26 points, while Chattanooga FC has 25 points.

With the seven wins, the Union 2 are 7-3-1 overall. They have 26 goals on the season.

Only two teams have scored 26 goals in the season. Sporting KC II in Group B also has 26 goals.

The Crew 2 are the 10th-best team in the Eastern Conference. Through 11 games, the team is 4-2-5 with 15 points.

Sal Olivas led the Union 2 with a brace. Olivas scored his first goal in the 16th minute. Then, twenty minutes later, he scored his second goal.

Late in the first half, the Crew 2 got on the board. That’s when Adrian Gonzalez scored in the 43rd minute.

One minute later after Gonzalez scored, Christopher James Only scored.

With his two goals, Olivas is now second on the team with four goals. He is tied with Chris Donovan, who is a part of the first team. Donovan has scored four goals in three games.

Edward Davis leads the team with five goals in 11 games.
