Patriots’ Aaron Hernandez misses first NFL game vs. Bills

New England Patriots rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez will miss his first NFL game. It will be on the road against the Buffalo Bills on the day after Christmas.

At press time, it is unknown why he will not be playing. He will be listed as inactive for the contest.

Before missing the Bills contest, he had played in 14 straight games. He last played on December 19th against the Green Bay Packers in a 31-27 win.

On the season, Hernandez has had 45 receptions. He was targeted 64 times.

He had 563 yards on the season with six touchdowns. He had about 8.8 yards per target.

Plus, he also had three receptions for 47 yards.

In the win against the Packers, Hernandez had just four receptions. He had 31 yards and two touchdowns.

In his last two games, he has had 50 total receiving yards. He also had two receptions for 19 yards in a 36-7 win over the Chicago Bears.

In Week 12, he surpassed the 50 yards with a 51-receiving yardage game. He had three receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in a 45-3 win over the New York Jets.

He had 11 receptions for 127 yards in the last six games. He also had four touchdowns.

In comparison, he had 34 receptions in his first eight games. He had 436 yards and two touchdowns.

The two touchdown receptions came in a Week 8 contest in a 34-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns. He had five receptions for 48 yards in the game.
