Michael Waltrip is returning to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Waltrip hasn’t raced in a truck since the 2006 season. Now, he’s returning to the Truck Series to drive at Daytona next week. It is the first time Waltrip has driven a truck at Daytona.
Waltrip, the 2001 and 2003 Daytona 500 winner, will be driving the No. 15 Tundra at the February 18th NextEra Energy Resources 250. He will be racing for Vision Aviation Racing.
It will be the first race for the team, as they make the transition to the Truck Series. Vision Aviation Racing drivers Justin Johnson and Dusty Davis used to race in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. In that series, the team won 74% of its 19 races last year, and will be very competitive in the truck series.
