Williams Grove Speedway has canceled its Saturday night program following the death of racer James Campbell Jr. of Feasterville, Bucks County.
“The Saturday Series racing program slated for August 15 has also been called out of the utmost respect for the Campbell family,” the track statement said. “As well as for all speedway employees, staff, management, and emergency personnel as they all attempt to deal with the tragedy at hand.”
Campbell Jr. was involved in a multiple-car accident during a warm-up session, which is known as hot laps. The crash occurred in the third corner of the track, and a life support helicopter was called.

However, it doesn’t appear like it was needed, as the coroner pronounced Campbell Jr. at the scene.
The track is expected to announce in the coming days when the postponed races will actually take place.
Friday night’s race was part of the United Racing Club’s program. There were 30 United Racing Club cars and 28 410 Sprint Cars on hand. It was also Kids Night, too.
