Tyson Fury is the new unified boxing heavyweight champion. He shocked champion Wladimir Klitschko in a unanimous decision at the ESPRIT Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The Judges ruled the fight: 116-111, 115-112, and 115-112. This is Klitschko’s first loss since April 2004, which was a 22-fight win streak.
“By the power of Jesus I won this in Germany tonight,” Fury said. “This is a dream come true. I worked so hard for this.”

The challenger was the dominant fighter since the beginning of the fight. Klitschko fainted throughout the fight.
The veteran Klitschko did not have an answer for Fury, as he consistently hit him with the jab.
His corner told him to be more active, but he just didn’t have it. As the fight went on, Fury would bloody Klitschko’s eyes.
For a moment in the ninth round, Fury hit him with a nice left hook that made Klitschko weak. Fury would get even more aggressive in the championship rounds.
Some thought that Fury was down one round on the cards before these final rounds. In order for Klitschko to retain his belt, he knew he had to knockout Fury in the 12th round, which was the best round of the fight.

He hit several left hooks to stun Fury before he was able to respond with several left hooks of his own. In the final round, Klitschko didn’t have the strength to knock out Fury.
Fury landed 86 of 371 punches, while Klitschko went 52 of 231. The two are expected to fight again in early 2016, as Klitschko is expected to exercise the rematch clause in the contract.
