Sonny Milano assigned to Cleveland

Sonny Milano has been assigned to the Cleveland Monsters. The Columbus Blue Jackets assigned the left winger to their American Hockey League affiliate on Friday.

This season in 28 games with the Blue Jackets, Milano had five goals and five assists for 10 points. He also had four penalty minutes and a -1 rating.

With the Monsters, he had two assists and a -3 rating in four appearances. Milano, 21, was selected by the Blue Jackets with the 16th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.

In 35 career NHL games, all with Columbus, he has five goals and six assists for 11 points, along with four penalty minutes and a -3 rating across three seasons. He has played for the Springfield Falcons and the Monsters in his AHL career over 131 games.

He has 32 goals and 53 assists for 85 points, along with 46 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. Milano also has four goals and four assists for eight points, along with four penalty minutes and a +6 rating in 17 postseason games with the Monsters last season.

He helped the Monsters as they won the Calder Cup as the AHL Champions. He may skate for the Monsters at home against the Milwaukee Admirals at The Q at 7 pm.
