Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt leaves Ramblers’ Final Four game early

Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt was in the spotlight for much of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. As her Loyola-Chicago Ramblers advanced in the NCAA Tournament, she was giving interviews and was happy on the sidelines.

However, on Saturday night, the Ramblers’ Final Four appearance came to an end. Plus, instead of sticking around for the final of the game, Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt was caught on video, leaving the arena.

Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt was caught on video leaving when the Michigan Wolverines had a 61-53 lead. There was only 1:39 left in the contest when security guards surrounded her to take her out of the arena, as she waved to fans.

Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt received a piece of the net after defeating the Kansas State Wildcats last weekend. Despite the loss, the Ramblers set a school record with wins, as they had 32.

The previous best record was 29.

Cameron Krutwig led the Ramblers with 17 points in the contest. They had three players, who scored in double-figures, as Clayton Custer added 15 points. Aundre Jackson also had 10 points off the bench.

While Loyola-Chicago will continue its basketball team next season, Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt and many of its players have been in the spotlight for the last time. Donte Ingram, Ben Richardson, Jackson, Carson Shanks, and Nick Dinardi have all played for the final time in their collegiate careers.
