North Carolina A&T will attempt to win its third Celebration Bowl

The 2018 Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl will feature the North Carolina A&T Aggies and the Alcorn State Braves. The game will kick off at noon on ABC on December 15th, 2018 from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

This will also be a rematch of the inaugural Celebration Bowl. The Aggies won 41-34 on December 19th, 2015.

This game is the Historically Black College’s National Championship game. It is also the only Bowl game of the Bowl season that features two FCS schools.

The Braves come into this meeting with a 9-3 record. They also 6-1 conference record in the SWAC.

Alcorn State also has a two-game win streak. Third-year head coach Fred McNair and his team has not lost since November 3rd when they won 52-42 to New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

They will attempt to tie the Celebration Bowl with two games each between the SWAC and the MEAC. Grambling State in 2016 has the lone SWAC win in this series, as they won 10-9 over the North Carolina Central Eagles on December 17th, 2016.

Presently, the MEAC leads with a 2-1 advantage. The Aggies won both games for the MEAC.

North Carolina A&T has a 9-2 record. Like Alcorn State, they were also 6-1 in conference play.

First-year head coach Sam Washington has guided the team to a four-game win streak. On the four-game win streak, they have outscored their opponents, 145-42.

The Aggies have not lost since October 13th when they were defeated by the Florida A&M Rattlers. The Rattlers won 22-21 at BB&T Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Alcorn State is scoring 33.67 points per game. They are giving up 21.25 points per game.

The Braves are averaging 474.4 yards per contest. Their opponents are only getting 286.6 yards per game.

Noah Johnson has gone 186 of 290 for 2,079 yards. He also has 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Felix Harper has gone 18 of 34 for 157 yards. He also has two touchdowns and one interception.

De’Shawn Waller leads the backs with 167 carries for 1,039 yards and 12 touchdowns. Raidarious Anderson leads the receivers with 32 receptions for 502 yards and three touchdowns.

North Carolina A&T is scoring 29.2 points per game. They are giving up 14.8 points per game.

They are averaging 353.5 yards per game, while they’re giving up 275.6 yards per contest.

Lamar Raynard leads the team as he has gone 118 of 215 for 1,373 yards. He also has 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Kylil Carter has gone 37 of 70 for 343 yards. He also has four touchdowns.

Marquell Cartwright leads the backs with 164 carries for 892 yards and five touchdowns. Zachary Leslie leads the receivers with 40 receptions for 512 yards and eight touchdowns.
