There was a shooting at a high school football game in New Jersey on Friday night. The incident happened at the Camden High School vs. Pleasantville High School in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

The shooting happened in the third quarter, according to reporters on the scene. The shooting allegedly happened on the sidelines of the home fans.

After the gunfire, players on the scene — along with fans in the stands — ran for cover. However, a young boy between the age of 10-to-12-years-old was struck by gunfire.

There are also reports that a woman was also struck. And unsubstantiated reports that a third individual was also shot.

The shooting took place with the Camden Panthers leading 6-0 in the game. The contest between the No. 1 seed (Pleasantville) and the No. 4 seed (Camden) has been suspended.

At this time, there is no update on when the game will be finished. The game has to be finished, as it would have ramifications for the rest of the playoffs if it wasn’t.

The NJSIAA will make a decision on when and if the game will be played. If the game is not finished this weekend, or even Monday, the game will force the rest of their playoff bracket to be finished back.

The players will need time to rest their bodies if the game is played mid-week or next weekend. Right now, we do not know what the NJSIAA will do.

The concern is on those that were injured. The game is on the back burner for now.
