Virtual Game Puck: Sabres’ Tage Thompson 2 G, 1A vs. Ottawa

In this virtual game puck story, we’re going to award a game puck to Buffalo Sabres center Tage Thompson. He had two goals and an assist in a 6-4 win over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.

With the Sabres up 4-1 in the second period, Thompson scored his first goal of the game. It came at 18:48 in the second period.

It was his second goal of the season.

Then, in the third period, Thompson also scored the last goal of the game. He scored at 19:37 on a short-handed, empty-net goal.

Thompson also assisted on Alex Tuch’s first goal of the season. Tuch scored in the second period at 17:08 on the power play. Rasmus Dahlin also assisted on the goal.

It was Thompson’s best performance of the season thus far. He has accounted for three goals so far.

He also had a goal in a loss to the Calgary Flames on October 19th.

This was Thompson’s first two-goal performance since he had a hat trick and an assist in a win over the Washington Capitals on January 3rd, 2023.
