The Cincinnati Reds have signed free agent Mike Moustakas. He has received a four-year, $64 million deal, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
This was the third straight off-season that Moustakas has hit the market. However, in the previous two off-seasons, he could only muster a one-year deal.
The Reds are planning on playing Moustakas at second base. He has played 47 career games at second base.

He joins an infield that will also include Joey Votto at first base. Freddy Galvis as the shortstop and Eugenio Alejandro Suárez playing the hot corner at third.
Moustakas started the 2019 season as the Milwaukee Brewers second baseman. However, when Travis Shaw struggled, manager Craig Counsel elected to move him back to third base, where he has played a significant part of his career.
He will remain in the National League with this move. He spent the last two seasons with the Brewers.

In 2019, had a .254 batting average with 35 home runs and 87 RBIs in 143 games. He also had 30 doubles and one triple, along with 80 runs on 133 hits in 523 at-bats.
Moustakas went to the All-Star game for the third-time in his career this past July. He previously played in the All-Star game twice with the Kansas City Royals.
