The Portuguese player has played in 169 games on the multi-million dollar ball. He is eight performances shy of tying Ike Casillas, his former teammate, with Real Madrid.

He will not have a chance to break the record — at least not in this current tournament, as he and Juve were eliminated by French Lyon. Ronaldo will have to wait until the next Champions League to inch closer to Casillas’ record.

Robert Lewandowski seems to be the favorite to be the top scorer in the Champions League. The Bayern Munich. He has 15 goals through nine appearances in the tournament thus far.

Dries Mertens is the nearest competitor, who has six Champions League goals through eight appearances. Hakim Ziyech led the tournament with five assists in the tournament.

Ziyech is now under contract with Chelsea but is not allowed to participate for that club in their return against Bayern Munich.

The 2019-20 will be the first Champions League season since 2005-06 in which neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo will make an appearance in the semi-finals or beyond.

According to Foot Mercato, the 35-year-old Portuguese is considering the future and has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to organize first meetings with representatives of other clubs.

If Ronaldo does leave Juventus, a move to French team PSG would be the most interesting to him. According to Sport Bible, he was close to joining PSG before the coronavirus pandemic.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes met PSG Sporting Director Leonardo Araújo during the Champions League Final 8 in Lisbon, according to writer Robin Bairner. Mendes reportedly already has a good relationship with Araújo.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo could be a part of a £54 million transfer. If PSG is able to add Ronaldo, they’ll have a stacked lineup with Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé.

Of course, it’s still possible to wager on a potential move of the Portuguese superstar on one of the websites that offer Free Bet Promotions at Legal US Sportsbooks. Free bets are a great way to enjoy the excitement of betting without the financial risk that can be involved.

And what to say about Ronaldo’s old rival in the Spanish League? Lionel Messi had no competition this season and was by far the best player in Spain. Due to the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, there is a very large gap with the rest.

“At the beginning of the season, I already said that as a club you can’t just let go a player, who makes fifty goals a year,” Messi said about the problems of Real after the departure of Ronaldo. “The whole Spanish league misses him. It was always fun because together with him, we both wanted to perform better every year. The presence of the other was good for both of us.”

What’s sure is that, even at his advanced age, he will likely break even more records and will continue to rival the best players in the world.
