Former San Diego Chargers star linebacker Shawne Merriman is not pleased with his former team’s performance. Merriman called out the team.

The Chargers — who now reside in Inglewood, California as Los Angeles’ team — were shut out on Sunday. The team that they were defeated has not played well this season.

They were defeated 45-0 by the New England Patriots near Los Angeles. This is causing Merriman to urge for a change.

“Changes have to be made point blank, you can’t have this much talent and have 0 points,” Merriman said on Twitter. “The Patriots aren’t even a good team this year.”

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Anthony Lynn. He has been on the hot seat for some time.

If he’s fired, Los Angeles will be the top place for a new head coach to go, especially with the performances this season by rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.

With the loss, the Chargers dropped to 3-9 on the season. Los Angeles has dropped two straight games.

Since the season-opening win, the team is just 2-9 in their last 11 games. They have just one win in their last five games, which was a win over the woeful New York Jets on November 22nd.

The 51-year-old Lynn has been the Chargers leader since the 2017 season.

He has two winning seasons in Los Angeles. However, in the past two seasons, he’s 8-20 in his role with the team.

In his first two seasons, the Chargers were 21-11. In 2018, the team went 12-4 to clinch a playoff berth.

However, their season came to an end in the AFC Divisional game against the Patriots.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Chargers will do with Lynn. Do they cut ties now, or wait until the end of the season? We don’t know.

But one thing we know is this will be determined soon.
