Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is showing a lot of maturity with the tough situation that he’s in. In fact, Embiid has had enough and finally said it.

He said he does not care about Ben Simmons. And said he’s not going to babysit him.

Simmons, who wants to be traded and is disgruntled with the team, was kicked out of practice today. He was also hit with a one-game suspension.

“At this point, I don’t care about that man,” Embiid said. “The chemistry has been excellent despite everything that’s happened over the past several months.

“Our job is not to babysit somebody.”

Simmons reportedly has been reluctant to deal with the team’s brass since last year’s playoff loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He was holding out to get a move to a new team.

There was some speculation this summer that several teams turned down offers for Simmons. He allegedly would only move to a California team if the reports were true.

The 76ers have been patient with Simmons. He has struggled with his shooting throughout his young career.

The team has even tried to work with Simmons on his shooting. But he wanted to do it on his own.

This latest drama is going to have to force their hand even when they may not want to deal Simmons. Other disgruntled players were forced to be benched by their teams before a deal could be worked out.
