Vieira defeats Tate by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 198

Ketlen Vieira defeated Miesha Tate in the main event of UFC Fight Night 198 at the UFC Apex on Saturday in Enterprise, Nevada. The fight went the distance.

After five rounds, the fight went to the judges, who gave Vieria the unanimous decision win. Two judges saw the fight 48-47, while a third judge saw the fight 49-46.

Tate had the lone takedown in the fight. But Vieria threw the most strikes, as she had 156 compared to Tate’s 145.

The 30-year-old Brazilian is now 12-2 with the win. Vieria is now 6-2 in the UFC.

She has now rotated loss and wins in her last four fights. She began her career with 10 straight wins.

Then, she was defeated by Irene Aldana, before defeating Sijara Eubanks. Vieria was then defeated by Yana Kunitskaya, before getting the win over Tate.

Six of her fights have been won by going the distance. She is 6-1 when the fight goes the distance.

Tate, who returned to the Octagon earlier this year after several years away from the sport, fell to 19-8 with the loss. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is 6-4 in the UFC.

She is now 1-1 since she returned to the sport. She knocked out Marion Reneau in the third round on July 17th, 2021.
