The Louisville Cardinals dominated the Duke Blue Devils on Thursday night. The Cardinals won 62-22 over the Blue Devils at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
With the win, the Cardinals improved to 6-5 on the season. The team is now bowl eligible.
Louisville has now won two straight games.
Duke fell to 3-8 with the loss. The Blue Devils have now lost seven straight games.
The team has not won a game since a 52-33 win over the Kansas Jayhawks on Sept. 25th.
Cardinals quarterback Malik Cunningham went 18 of 25 for 303 yards. He had five touchdown passes.
Cunningham also led the backs with 11 carries for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Marshon Ford had four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Blue Devils quarterback Gunnar Holmberg went 19 of 34 for 176 yards. He had one interception.
Mataeo Durant led the backs with 13 carries for 78 yards. Jake Bobo had nine receptions for 102 yards.
The Cardinals outscored the Blue Devils 27-13 in the second half. Cunningham hit Jordan Watkins for a 19-yard touchdown reception.
Cunningham also hit Ahmari Huggins-Bruce for a 12-yard touchdown reception. Cunningham then connected with Tyler Harrell for a 36-yard touchdown reception.
Aidan Robbins scored on a 34-hyard rushing touchdown.
Duke’s Jalon Calhoun scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown. Riley Leonard also scored on a 35-yard rushing touchdown. The two-point conversion attempt failed.
Louisville led 35-9 at halftime. Cunningham hit Trevion Cooley for a 48-yard touchdown reception. He also connected with Ford for a 20-yard touchdown reception.
Cunningham scored on a 44-yard rushing touchdown. He also followed that up with a 72-yard rushing touchdown.
Jalen Mitchell scored on an 11-yard rushing touchdown.
Duke’s Charlie Ham made three field goals.
