He had an operation on his right knee six months ago. Haynes is reporting that Leonard began to ramp up his workload in recent weeks in anticipation that he will return in the future.

While Haynes is reporting that Leonard may return this season, he did not give an exact date when he believes that Leonard may return.

The 30-year-old played in 52 games for the Clippers last season. He averaged 24.8 points per game.

He got injured in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz. He was injured on a play when he was fouled by Joe Ingles.

Leonard had 31 points in the 118-104 Clippers win over the Jazz on June 14th. However, after reviewing his injury, the team held him out the rest of the playoffs even when they did not report the severity of his injury.

Leonard missed his teammates advancing to their first Western Conference Finals in team history. He had surgery to repair the torn ACL on July 13th.

Without Leonard this season, the Clippers are 19-20. They are presently the 8th-best team in the Western Conference.
