“This is bucket list for me,” Craig said after getting the first win of the 2022 season. “I grew up in those stands. I remember vividly watching all those main events there, as a kid. Now, I’m here on the stage. It goes to show that you guys can do it too.
“This is a dream come true for me. I felt awesome all day. I didn’t get the best start, but I made my way through the pack and made clean passes. Once I got out in the front, I just clicked my laps off. I rode a smart race. I couldn’t be anymore happier to win Round 1 in Anaheim.”
The rest of the podium included Seth Hammaker, who finished second. Hunter Lawrence was the third-place finisher.
This is Hammaker’s fourth podium. Lawrence picked up his fifth podium but first in Anaheim.
“That was a wild race,” Hammaker said after the race. “It was one of the craziest races that I’ve been apart of. The last couple of laps, I’ve had Garrett (Marchbanks) behind me. I saw that Hunter Lawrence was coming too. I needed to plan my passes and hit the whoops solid abs get the gap so Hunter couldn’t get too close.”
