Brazilian soccer player Douglas Costa is joining Major League Soccer. He has signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
This transaction has been mentioned for several weeks. However, it became official on Wednesday.

He is expected to be in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, according to noted soccer reporter Fabrizio Romano. The reporter said that he chose the Galaxy over Flamengo.

Costa is signed with Grêmio through June 30, 2022. He will then sign a six-month loan with the Galaxy.
After the 2022 season, he will sign for two additional seasons.
The 31-year-old has been on loan by Juventus to Bayern Munich and Grêmio the past two seasons. In 2021, he had three goals and two assists in 26 matches, including 20 starts, for Grêmio.
He began his career with Grêmio. He also spent time with Shakhtar and Juventus.

Costa has appeared in 301 matches in his career. He has made 186 starts and has scored 47 goals.
According to Soccer Reference, his last game with Gremio came against Atletico Mineiro when he scored a goal in a 4-3 Serie A game.
