The Golden State Warriors are the 2021-22 NBA Champions. And the team is keeping one of their assistant coaches.
Kenny Atkinson was set to become the Charlotte Hornets head coach. But he has had a change of heart.

He will now remain with the Warriors as their top assistant coach. This is a role that Mike Brown had for six seasons.
Brown left to become the head coach of the Sacramento Kings. He replaced Luke Walton and interim head coach Alvin Gentry.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors had negations with Atkinson about the associate head coaching role. These talks led him to turn down the Hornets job.
The Hornets are now back to the drawing board. They have to begin their interview process over again to find their next bench leader.
