He defeated Musi’s fiancée Kye Kelley at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky two weeks ago. In April, Martin also defeated Team NOLA member Jerry Bird to win the first Great 8 at Virginia Motorsports Park in North Dinwiddie, Virginia.

With the win, Martin broke the tie with Kelley. Both drivers entered this weekend with 300 points.

Martin received 20 points towards his Invitational total. He now has 320 points.

Once again, he is the points leader going into Saturday’s Invitational.

Musi also received 10 points to her tally. She broke a tie with Team NOLA driver Scott Taylor, who also competed in the Great 8, to improve to 180 points.

The Edelbrock-sponsored driver is now fifth in points. She is now 10 points behind Justin Swanstrom, who has 190 points.

She may be able to overtake Swanstrom on Saturday if he is not able to compete. The Florida native crashed into the wall on Friday.

Swanstrom has damage to the front end of the car.
