The NASCAR community is mourning the death of JTG Daughtery crew member JR Hollar. Noah’s was provided.
An official cause of death has not been announced yet. The news came out before the team competes in their latest race.
“We’ll be racing with heavy hearts at Kansas Speedway,” the team said in a Facebook post. “An esteemed member of our JTG Daugherty Racing Family, JR Hollar, passed away this morning. He loved his JTG Daugherty Racing family and we loved him. He will be dearly missed.”
JTG Daughtery will race with a heavy heart going into the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who is currently 26th in the points standings, will drive the team’s entry in the race.
Earlier this year, a fellow NASCAR team, David Gilliland Racing, had tragedy strike their team when their hauler was involved in an accident in Texas. Days later, Taylor Gray drove the team’s car to the win at Phoenix Raceway in the ARCA Menards race there.
