The Boston Celtics are expected to suspend head coach Ime Udoka. The head coach — who is leading into his second season —had a relationship with a staff member.
According to ESPN, he is facing a significant suspension from the team. Udoka violated the team’s code of conduct.
Early reports suggest that Udoka could be facing a season-long suspension. If that’s the case when the Celtics announce their decision, then one of the current Celtics assistant coaches will lead the team on an interim basis.
It was a consensual relationship between the two adults. He’s going to have to answer to more than just the Celtics.
Udoka has been in a long-term relationship with Nia Long. The couple has at least one child together.

During his first season as a head coach, he guided the Celtics to the NBA a finals. They were defeated by the Golden State Warriors.
