The Brooklyn Nets have promoted Jacque Vaughn to interim head coach. He replaces Steve Nash, who was fired.
This was the first head coaching firing during the season. In the off-season, there were five coaching changes.

Vaughn will lead the team into tonight’s game. The Nets host the Chicago Bulls at the Barclays Center.
The Nets have back-to-back games. The team snapped a four-game losing stram with a 116-109 win over the Indiana Pacers on Halloween.
Vaughn does have prior NBA head coaching experience. But that was a long time ago.
And he never had a team as talented as he does with the Nets. He was 58-158 in two-plus seasons with the Magic.
His team’s never finished better than fifth in the Southeast Division. His best record as a head coach is 23-59 during the 2013-14 season.
Vaughn has been a coach with the Nets since his departure from the Magic. He began as the Nets’ assistant coach from 2016 through 2020.
He served the 2020 season as an interim head coach. Vaughn went 7-3 as the interim head coach during the 2019-20 season.
He then remained on the staff after Steve Nash was hired. Now, he is the interim head coach once again after Nash was fired.
