The Florida Gators defeated the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday. The Gators won 41-24 over the Aggies at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.

The Aggies had their two-game win streak over the Gators snapped with this loss. With the defeat, Texas A&M has more problems going on with the program.

They have now dropped five straight games. And head coach Jimbo Fisher’s tenure may be coming to an end soon.

Fisher and the Aggies had high expectations this season. They were considered to be one of the favorites to win the College Football Playoff National Championship.

The Aggies had the top-ranked recruiting class in the country. But in the months since February, everything has fallen apart.

With the win, the Gators improved to 5-4 overall. Their two-game losing streak on the season has been snapped with this confidence-building win.

Florida is now just one game away from being Bowl eligible in Billy Napier’s first season in Gainesville, Florida. Their next three opponents are the South Carolina Gamecocks, Vanderbilt Commodores, and the Florida State Seminoles during Thanksgiving weekend.

Texas A&M fell to 3-6 overall. The best they could do is be .500. But that even seems unlikely.

Their losing streak could end next Saturday against the Auburn Tigers. Both the Tigers and the Aggies will come into the game with a 3-6 record.

Also, both teams are on five-game losing streaks. The Tigers will be in their second game under interim head coach Cadillac Williams following the departure of Bryan Harsin.

The Aggies will then close out their season with games against the UMASS Minutemen and the LSU Tigers.

The all-time series with the Aggies and the Gators are now tied 3-3. This is the Gators’ first win in the series since Texas A&M moved to the Southeastern Conference.

The Gators’ prior win in the series before Saturday came on September 8th, 2012, in a 20-17 win in College Station. Florida also has a 42-6 win over the Aggies in 1962.

Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson went 17 of 28 for 201 yards. He also threw a touchdown pass.

Montrell Johnson had 22 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown. Ricky Pearsall had three receptions for 65 yards.

Aggies quarterback Haynes King went 23 of 45 for 279 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Devon Achane had 16 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Evan Stewart had eight receptions for 120 yards.

It was all the Gators in the second half. They scored 21 points.

Johnson also scored on a five-yard rushing touchdown.

Randy Bond also made a 24-yard field goal.

Florida’s Richardson scored on a 10-yard rushing touchdown. He also scored on a 60-yard rushing touchdown.
