Kraken release Magnus Hellberg

The Seattle Kraken has released goaltender Magnus Hellberg. He did not play in a game with the team.

Hellberg spent less than two weeks with the team. He was claimed off waivers by the Kraken on November 10th.

He began the season with the Ottawa Senators. He appeared in one game with the Senators.

Hellberg started and defeated the Dallas Stars on October 24th. The Senators won 4-2 over the Stars at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

He made 29 saves in the game. Hellberg was in the net for 60 minutes. This was his first NHL game since the 2021-22 season with the Detroit Red Wings.

He also defeated the New Jersey Devils where he had 20 saves and allowed three goals on April 29th, 2021. Before playing in the NHL in 2021-22, he played overseasons.

It was his first appearance in the NHL since the 2016-17 season with the New York Rangers. He has appeared in six NHL games, including three starts, with the Rangers, Nashville Predators, Red Wings, and Senators. He is 3-0 in those starts.

Before joining the Red Wings in 2021-22, he appeared in 37 games with HC Sochi in the KHL. He went 13-20-4 in those games.

He has appeared in 169 KHL games, where is 81-64-14.
