Offensive line coach and running game coordinator Sean Kugler has fired.
During a press conference on Tuesday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury was asked if any coaches have been fired. Kingsbury said “no. Then, the news about Kugler being fired came out.
“We relieved him of his duties, and he was sent home Monday morning prior to the game,” Kingsbury said to Arizona Republic reporter Bob McManaman. “It’s challenging anytime you make a staff change in that type of manner.”
The 56-year-old has been on Kingsbury’s since the beginning in 2019. He was the team’s offensive line coach in 2019 and 2020.
Since 2021, he was the Cardinals offensive line coach and running game coordinator.
Kugler has also coached in the NFL with the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Denver Broncos. He has been a coach in college football or the NFL dating back to 1993.
He also served several seasons as the UTEP Miners head coach. He was 18-36 in four-plus seasons with the Miners.
