Red Wings claim Hellberg off waivers from Kraken

The Detroit Red Wings claimed goaltender Magnus Hellberg off of waivers on Wednesday. He was recently put on waivers by the Seattle Kraken.

He has been on the move this month. He began the month with the Ottawa Senators before being placed on waivers on November 10th.

He never played in a game with the Kraken. He spent about two weeks time in Seattle.

Hellberg was claimed off waivers on November 10th. Then, he was released on November 22nd.

He has only played in one NHL game this season. He recorded a win over the Dallas Stars on October 24th.

Hellberg allowed two goals and made 29 saves in the contest. He had a .935 save percentage in 60 minutes.

The Red Wings were previously familiar with Hellberg. He had signed a one-year, $800,000 deal with the April 13th, 2022.

He played in one game with the Red Wings. Hellberg was the winning netminder in Detroit’s April 29th win over the New Jersey Devils on April 29th, 2021.
