Stars, Hintz agree to eight-year extension

The Dallas Stars have re-signed forward Roope Hintz. They have signed him to an eight-year extension.

The deal is worth $67.6 million. Hintz will be paid an average of $8.45 million per season.

He is making $3.15 million this season. He was slated to become a free agent at the end of this season before this agreement was reached.

The Finland player has been a top line player for the Stars for the last three seasons. He is on a line with Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski.

The 26-year-old has appeared in 22 games this season. He has eight goals. Overall, he has 24 points.

He has played for the Stars the last five seasons. Hintz has appeared in 261 games.

He has scored 88 goals. Overall, he has 194 points.

He is coming off of a career season where he scored 37 goals during the 2021-22 season. He had 72 points.
