According to the Alachua County Sherriff’s Office, Florida Gators quarterback Jalen Kitna has been arrested. At this time, we do not know the severity of the charges.

He is the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna. The young quarterback committed to the Gators in 2020.

Kitna is the Gators second string quarterback. He is the primary backup to Anthony Richardson.

At this time, the Gators do not know if Richardson will declare for the 2023 NFL Draft. If he does, that puts the football team in a bind for their upcoming Bowl game.

That would mean that Jack Miller, the former Ohio State quarterback, would likely be the starter.

Kitna has seen action in many games this season. He helped keep the Gators in the action against their arch rivals, Florida State Seminoles, during Thanksgiving weekend.

He had one carry in the game. But he also handed the ball off several times that allowed the Gators to gain yardage.

Kitna had 152 passing yards against the Eastern Washington Eagles in Week 5. He also had 29 passing yards in Week 11 against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
