49ers have a big second half; defeat Seahawks in the 2023 NFL Playoffs

The San Francisco 49ers beat down the Seattle Seahawks in the second half to get the win. The 49ers won 41-23 over the Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

This was the third time that the 49ers defeated the Seahawks this season. It was also the second time that they won with Brock Purdy as their quarterback.

With the win, the 49ers improved to 14-4 on the season. The Seahawks concluded their season with a 9-9 record.

For the second straight year, the 49ers advanced to the Divisional Round. Last year, they defeated the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The 49ers then defeated the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. Unfortunately, their 2021 season came to an end with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Conference Championship game.

Purdy went 18 of 30 for 332 yards. He also threw three touchdown passes.

He became the first rookie quarterback with four total touchdowns in a playoff game. Purdy also scored a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Christian McCaffrey led the backs with 15 carries for 119 yards. Deebo Samuel had six receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith went 25 of 35 for 253 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and one interception.

Rookie Kenneth Walker III had 15 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown. D.K. Metcalf had 10 receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

San Francisco outscored Seattle 25-6 in the second half. Purdy scored on the aforementioned one-yard rushing touchdown.

Purdy also hit Elijah Mitchell for a seven-yard touchdown reception. Following the score, Purdy hit George Kettle to complete the two-point conversion.

Purdy hit Samuel for a 74-yard touchdown reception. Robbie Gould also made a 31-yard field goal.

Seattle’s lone score came late in the fourth quarter. Smith hit Metcalf for a three-yard touchdown reception.

The Seahawks led 17-16 at halftime. Walker III scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown.

Smith hit Metcalf for a 50-yard touchdown reception. Jason Myers also made a 56-yard field goal.

Purdy hit McCaffrey for the 49ers’ lone touchdown. He hit McCaffrey for a three-yard touchdown pass.

Gould also made three field goals. He first made a 34-yard field goal.

He then made a 33-yard field goal. Gould also connected on a 46-yard field goal.
