The No. 15-seeded Princeton Tigers have upset the No. 2-seeded Arizona Wildcats. The Tigers won 59-55 over the Wildcats at the Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California.
With the win, the Tigers advance to the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The team will play the Missouri Tigers on Saturday evening.
Princeton improved to 22-8 on the season. Arizona fell to 28-7 with the loss.
There was just one lead change in the game.
Tosan Evbuomwan led the Tigers with 15 points. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal.
He was the only player in double figures.
The starters accounted for 43 points. The bench scored 16 points. Blake Peters led the bench with 9 points.
The majority of the Tigers’ points came in the paint. They scored 42 points in the paint.
Azuolas Tubelis led the Wildcats with 22 points. He also had five rebounds, one assist, one block, and four steals.
Tubelis was one of two players in double digits. Oumar Ballo also contributed 13 points.
The starters scored 48 points. Arizona had just seven bench points. Kylan Boswell led the bench with five points.
