Hardcore wrestling legend Terry Funk has passed away. He was 79.
An official cause of death has not been determined yet.

“Terry’s daughters, Brandee and Stacy, I have asked me to let you know how much they appreciate all the love and support you have showed him over the years – and how much they appreciate your condolences and kind words now. #RIPTerryFunk,” Wrestling legend Mick Foley said in a statement on X.
He debuted as a wrestler in 1965. And he retired for the final time in 2017.
He is the son of Dory Funk. His brother is Dory Funk Jr.
In 2021, there was a report that suggested that Funk was living with dementia. However, Ric Flair stated in December of that year that he was back home.
Funk was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009 with his brother. He also has a banner in the original ECW Arena in Philadelphia that is now known as the 2300 Arena.
He won championships in numerous promotions. He also competed in the United States and Japan. Funk is in numerous Hall of Fames as well due to his accomplishments.
“Every night in cities all over the world, Terry Funk left it all in the ring for our business and for the fans,” Triple H said in a statement on X. “An icon of our industry. My thoughts are with Terry’s family, friends and fans.”
