Yet, in her 80-game career with the team, she has averaged 14.2 points per game. She is also shooting 46.9% from the field and 36.1% from three-point range.
“We’re beyond excited to extend Betnijah’s tenure with New York Liberty– further positioning the organization for long-term success,” General Manager Jonathan Kolb said. “What she brings to the team on both ends, as well as intangibly, cannot be understated. There is no doubt in my mind B could see herself in the Liberty Ring of Honor someday as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.”
Outside of being a scorer for the Liberty, she is also known as a lockdown defensive player. She was named the WNBA Most Improved Player during the 2020 season.
She has played for the team for the last three seasons. It is her eighth season overall in the league.
